Hometown hero Russell Henley won the perpetual trophy of the 2008 Georgia Amateur Championship with a one stroke victory over fellow Georgia Bulldog and 2007 Champion Harris English. 2003 Champion David Noll, Jr. of Dalton finished two strokes back. Henley's 270 total broke the tournament record held by Tommy Aaron and Allen Doyle.
